Double Balloon Enteroscopy is an electronic endoscopy system exclusively for the small intestine. It allows targeted examination and treatment of the entire small intestine with minimally invasive technology. Two balloons are used in this procedure to examine the small intestine in steps approximately 40 cm long by push and pull method. By the use of the Double Balloon Technology physicians not only are able to drive an endoscope through the entire small intestine, but can perform treatments to stop bleeding, remove polyps and destroy tumors.
